WELCOME TO GHANA BUSINESS CODE

Welcome to Ghana Business Code (GHBC). The Ghana Business Code is a set of principles introduced into the Ghanaian business environment through the initiative of three key business associations in Ghana – the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) , Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) and Ghana Employers Association (GEA) under the Danida funded project, Improving Business Practice (IBP), Sub-Component of the Business Sector Programme Support (BSPS).

The GHBC is a series of prescriptions based on UN Global Compact relating to human rights, labour standards, the environment and transparency in business operations.

The GHBC emphasizes the triple bottom line (3ps) of corperate responsibility with regard to People, Profit and Planet.

By this initiative, the Ghana business community appreciates increased international attention on Corporate Responsibilities (CR) and the ‘triple bottom line’ that emphasizes corporate measurement of social, environmental and economic responsibilities. In other words, corporate responsibility towards people, planet and profit.

The Code represents three Ps in another sense; a code developed though a unique participatory Process, a unique Product and offers unique Possibilities for Ghanaian businesses.
